Shooting in Allentown

Police investigate the scene  outside a the El Jalapeno Mexican restaurant next to Jordan Park in Allentown on Tuesday evening after a man was found shot. Allentown and Whitehall Township police rushed to the scene at the Taqueria Mexican Food restaurant at Sixth Street and Sumner Avenue at 7 p.m. after receiving several reports of shots fired in the area. The man who was shot was conscious when he was lifted into an Allentown EMS ambulance, according to witnesses. One said it appeared he was shot in a leg. His condition was unavailable. Witnesses on the scene said they heard five or 10 shots before they noticed a man sitting in the small parking lot in front of the restaurant. They said they saw several teens running west on Sumner right after the shooting. The wounded man was taken away by the ambulance about 7:25 p.m.
