Come for the music and stay for the movie.
New York-based musician Lou Gallo will perform at 11:30 a.m. Saturday as part of Peas & Q’s, ArtsQuest's free children's series at Town Square at SteelStacks in Bethlehem
Gallo, a 17-year veteran of New York City’s children’s music scene, had his “The Marathon Song” featured at the New York City Marathon and his song “I'm Home” featured in an AdCouncil TV public service announcement. His most recent CD is “Walk The Dog.”
After Gallo’s hourlong performance, kids can enjoy the family action adventure flick “Jumanji,” which is being screened at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas at SteelStacks. In the film, the late actor Robin Williams stars as a boy who is trapped in a board game and escapes 26 years later as an adult. The 1995 family film is based on the 1981 children's book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg.
Movie tickets are $10 and $8 for seniors. Profits from ticket sales will go to the Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Info: www.artsquest.org.
