Amy Ellis (Handout / January 23, 2013)

Amy Ellis, a writer and editor at The Courant, will be contributing for the Mommy Minute blog periodically, focusing on products to make family life a bit easier.

She describes herself as "married to an amazing guy and mom to an adorable 2-year-old named Jack. Oh, and I just turned 40 (gulp). I am relishing this new stage in my life.

"My new favorite book? 'Kiss Good Night' by Amy Hest. My new favorite show? 'Little Bear.' Things I never thought I would hear myself say? 'Please don't put Cheerios in your ears.' Items I never thought I would purchase? Boogie Wipes, the grape ones (way better than tissues for toddlers).

"After trying for two years for a baby (with two miscarriages along the way), I truly  make each moment count with my son. My love of shopping for shoes and purses has been replaced with shopping for diapers and wipes, and I wouldn’t have it any other way."
