In similar fashion to Jenny McCarthy’s declaration that vaccinations lead to autism, Katie Couric recently ticked off those pushing for young people to be vaccinated against HPV, (human papillomavirus, a sexually-transmitted virus that can lead to certain to cancers.)

Because talk show hosts appear in people’s living rooms every day, viewers feel a connection to them, and give them more credibility than they might deserve on a variety of topics.

No offense against, Ms. Couric, but really: Ask your doctor. Do your research. Then decide if your child will be vaccinated.
