There's sleepless nights, guilt and tantrums, but there's also pure happiness, pride, joy and unconditional love!

There's no debating that being a parent is an emotional roller coaster, with many ups and downs, it's quite a ride!  Moms and Dads need a break.  But, when they take that break, for how long, and who watches the kids is a very personal decision, and one that varies greatly.

Critics immediately pounced on the couple, criticizing them for leaving their son at such a young age.

Of course every family is different. This story struck a nerve with me because I'm filled with anxiety about leaving my daughters to attend an out of town wedding.  I have mixed feelings about it, but does a baby free vacation have anything to do with parenting abilities?

What do you think? When did you leave your child for the first time?
