I was interested to see this announcement due to the fact that I have two old cribs sitting in the attic! Now, through February 17th, Toys R Us and Babies R Us stores are hosting a "Great Trade-In" where parents can exchange their out-of-date cribs and car seats for 25% off a new baby item.
According to a press release:
Since 2009, the “Great Trade-In” event has resulted in the removal of more than one million pieces of used and potentially unsafe cribs, car seats and more from homes, garages and attics nationwide.
Through this program, Toys“R”Us continues to raise awareness among parents about ways to be proactive where children’s safety is concerned. In many cases, parents may not know that a product in their home has been recalled. And, safety standards have changed significantly over the past five years, making many older products non-compliant by today’s more stringent requirements.
