Kloter's Ice Cream Barn Opens

Kloter's Ice Cream Barn opens for the season today. (Kloter's Ice Cream Barn / April 29, 2014)

I don't need an excuse for ice cream, how about you?

Kloter's Ice Cream Barn in Ellington opens for the season today at noon! I don't know about you, but for me, that's reason to celebrate whether you've got kids or not!  They have more than a dozen hard ice cream flavors as well as soft serve, sundaes, milkshakes, you name it! Co-Founder Sue Kloter says their ice cream comes from three suppliers, one in Connecticut, one in Boston and the third from Lancaster, Pennslyvania.  Not only do they have the works when it comes to toppings, the homemade whipped cream is a must, and it's free!  New this year, waffle cones, which Sue says come standard.  They'll still have sugar and wafer cones if you prefer as well as cups.   The news gets even sweeter, Kloter's is offering free ice cream sundaes this Saturday May 3rd from 10am-4pm.  To quote Sue herself, "Ice Cream makes everyone happy."
