Is this Politically Correct?

Members of the middle dude’s lacrosse team received their new uniforms today. While the parents spent much of the first half of the game discussing whether they were politically correct, the kids loved them.

Many school districts and even professional sports teams have either considered doing away with or changing mascots to be less offensive. While I generally have no problem expressing my opinions, for some reason I’m not sure what I think. (I do like the nod to the sport's Native American roots.)

But, I will add this: Why, when dressing up for Halloween, is it acceptable for a white kid to wear a fringe dress with beads and feathers but unacceptable for her to wear a sari and paint a dot on her forehead?
