Magnets Recalled (CPSC / February 1, 2013)

These Magnet Balls Manipulative Magnet Sets, made by SCS Direct in Stratford and sold exclusively on Amazon.com, are being recalled because they could seriously hurt a child if ingested.

Also, Kringles Toys and Gifts is recalling the Nanospheres Magnetic Desk Toys for ingestion hazards, as well.

These high-powered magnets were also sold on Amazon.com.

According to the press release:

If two or more magnets are swallowed, they can link together inside a child's intestines and clamp onto body tissues, causing intestinal obstructions, perforations, sepsis and death. Internal injury from magnets can pose serious lifelong health effects.
