We all remember: talking about our periods with our parents was totally embarrassing...and watching those horrendous tampon commercials was just as bad.

Well, how about a new approach that gets kids and parents laughing together...inspiring discussion that's not awkward or weird?

Check out this video from HelloFlo, a monthly subscriptions service which delivers tampons, pads and even CANDY to your daughter's door.  Ummm, brilliant!

This article from NPR titled "Tampon Marketing Gets Real For The Social Media Age" highlights some of the funnier moments in the video which has gone viral.

In an email exchange, Sapna Tandon, a doctor with OBGYN of Fairfield County, writes:

"I do think this is a great idea. As an upcoming mom in February of a baby girl, I too someday will be faced with this discussion....definitely a great way to approach a traditionally awkward subject since it will help break the ice leading into a discussion."

Have you heard about HelloFlo?
