Happy Mother's Day to Me

It sure is swell when your kids come through on Mother’s Day: Breakfast in bed, gift cards for spa treatments, an empty dishwasher.

But sometimes kids kind of stink. No offense, really. But sometimes doesn’t it seem as if everyone in your house has sort of forgotten about Mother’s Day? A girl can get resentful.

But I have a plan. And so should you, unless you want to become a bitter old person.

Since the weather dudes warned us about a horrific weather pattern coming our way (and now it’s actually going to be just fine, weather-wise) I signed myself up for a two-hour yin yoga class on Sunday. Perfect.

During my version of a church service, I bet I’ll be reminded how important it is to take care of myself, so that I can better take care of others. I’ll have two hours to think about all of the things for which I am grateful.

And if the kids forgot to make me a nice card or get me flowers or put their %@#& laundry away, they’ll have two hours to make it right.
