Web Support For Local Kids With Cancer

The web, especially Facebook, is becoming a place where families facing unbelievably frightening circumstances can feel love and support.

I recently learned about Camden's Crusade.  Check out the web site, meant to inspire, educate and raise funds for a Tolland boy named Camden Soucy.  This 5 year old is suffering from Stage 4 Neuroblastoma after a metastatic mass was found between his kidney and liver.  Camden, who loves playing soccer and dressing-up like Batman, is facing rigorous treatment at Connecticut Children's Medical Center and a bone marrow transplant in Boston.

Also, a Facebook page called Miracles for Marik is inspiring thousands of "likes" that will help an 11 year old from Gales Ferry.  Marik Tucker lost his leg during his battle with Osteosarcoma and his mother is asking folks from all over to send a postcard to this brave boy who loves maps and geography.

Just read the posts on the Facebook page...and you will be incredibly moved by this brave boy...and his eloquent mom.
