Creating Food From "Harry Potter" & "Hunger Games"

In a matter of hours, 70 children will descend on my backyard, poised to enter our version of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in honor of both of my sons' birthdays this week.

For the last few days, I have been surrounded by Cauldron Crisps, Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans and, yes, Chocolate Frogs, made by melting chocolate chips and pouring the mixture into amphibian-like molds that I found on Amazon.

Crazy?  Yes.  But, honestly, I've been having fun.

And, I owe a lot of this creativity to a cool site I found while Googling around called Fictional Food which aims to "bring food from the page to the plate"!  The site provides recipes for dishes mentioned in books such as "Harry Potter" and "The Hunger Games".  I also got some great style tips from Modern Hostess.

The pretzel wands are ready.  The goodie bags are sort of ready.  Still need to buy balloons.  The Castle Bounce House and Live Owl Show arrive at 3pm.  YIKES!

Wish me luck.
