So is it three places you need to be tonight? Or maybe four?
You know May Madness has totally set in when you can’t possibly look beyond tomorrow on the family calendar or your brain will explode. Concerts, parades, meetings, graduations, lacrosse tournaments … are you sure it’s the pollen in the air that’s making you dizzy?
I’m certainly not an expert at anything, but I do know that we’ve been through this end-of-the-school-year season before and have made it out alive. My suggestion?
Offer and accept offers of rides to and from these events. It made no difference to me to drive that nice kid home from the game last night, but it probably made a big difference to his parents. And, whichever nice parent drives my middle dude home from tonight’s game is probably too busy to notice there’s another stinky kid in her car. (Thanks, by the way!) But to us, it’s a huge help, considering tonight’s schedule.
I’d offer more words of wisdom, but it’s time to go listen to some fifth graders (half of them missing some playoff game and a scout meeting, no doubt) offer their 11-year-old interpretations of Mozart. And then we do it all again tomorrow.
