'Music Together' Celebrates 'Day Of Peace'

When both of my sons were babies and toddlers, we loved attending our local Music Together classes and have such fond memories of singing "Tingalayo" and "All Around the Kitchen Cock-a-doodle-doodle-doo"!

Now, this wonderful organization, committed to family bonding through musical participation, will host a unique celebration, with programs all around the world, in honor of the International Day of Peace. 

Here are excerpts from a press release, detailing the local event, here in Hartford on September 21st:


“Peace, Love, & Music Together: An International Day of Peace Celebration” 

Elizabeth Park, Hartford, CT Saturday, September 21

Hartford, CT, September 4, 2013—Music Together, the leading international early childhood music education program, will commemorate the United Nations’ International Day of Peace (September 21) with family music events at many of its 2000 locations in 40 countries around the world. One of the largest free events will be Peace, Love, & Music Together: An International Day of Peace Celebration at Elizabeth Park, Hartford, CT, on Saturday, September 21, 2013, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The family festival will include live music, crafts, and appearances from a diverse array of community performers and organizations from around the state. 

Connecticut State Senator Beth Bye, a champion of early childhood education, will accept an award at the event for her work on behalf of Connecticut’s children. Other politicians and VIPs will be announced shortly.
