Hot baked Nutella, cream cheese sandwich
Prep: 20 minutes
Cook: 5 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
8 slices soft, crusty Italian bread
4 ounces cream cheese, cut into 4 cubes, softened
4 to 6 tablespoons Nutella
Coarse salt
Melted chocolate, to garnish
Fresh berries, to serve
1. Heat the oven to 450 degrees. Lay each slice of bread on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet; put in the oven. Turn the oven setting to broil; toast the bread until golden brown, 2-3 minutes. Remove from the oven.
2. Spread 1 cube cream cheese on the toasted side of four slices of bread, one cube to each. On the other slices, spread a thick layer of Nutella. Sprinkle each slice very lightly with salt.
3. Put the sandwiches together; return to oven. Broil, until golden brown, 1 1/2-2 minutes per side. Cut each sandwich in half; drizzle with melted chocolate. Place on plates; surround with fresh berries. Serve immediately.
