Pickin' Patch

The Pickin' Patch in Avon eatures prestarted plants, annuals, perennials, vegetables, hanging baskets, pick-your-own berries, vegetables and more. The Pickin' Patch is Avon's oldest business and Connecticut's 10th oldest farm.  Joseph Woodford settled on the land that is now the Pickin' Patch in 1666.  The Woodford farm began in 1880 raising shade tobacco. The farm also raised dairy cattle and the milk was driven over Avon Mountain to Hartford by horse and wagon.
