A $650 hands-free faucet costs $710 installed. Full story (American Standard / January 28, 2013) |
A plumber will replace a bath faucet with a new American Standard hands-free unit for $710, which includes the labor and the faucet. If you have plumbing experience and tools you can make the swap for $650, the cost of the fixture. Otherwise, we suggest hiring a plumber.
The water conservation comes from the fact that the unit uses nearly one-third less water than a convention bathroom faucet. A built-in timer stops the flow of water two seconds after motion stops so the user can move their hands without the water turning off. You can adjust the timing if you prefer having more or less time.
