Bear Stearns: How much is it worth?
Battered by its exposure to mortgage-backed investments and a crisis of confidence on Wall Street, investment bank Bear Stearns agreed to sell itself to J.P. Morgan Chase for a fraction of its former value. The original terms of the deal valued Bear Stearns at just $2/share, or $236 million. Early last year, Bear Stearns was valued at $170/share.
