Beginnings: Hudson was born to Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, who divorced 18 months after her birth. She was raised by Hawn and actor Kurt Russell. She graduated from Crossroads, a performing arts school in Santa Monica, and was accepted to New York University but chose instead to pursue acting full time. Her first movies were the small films "Gossip," "About Adam" and "200 Cigarettes." She gained recognition with her breakthrough role in Cameron Crowe's semi-autobiographical "Almost Famous," and has since been best known for her work in comedies including "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," "You, Me and Dupree," "Fool's Gold" and " My Best Friend's Girl."
