Giants' Will Hill suspended for violating NFL substance abuse policy

Will Hill once again will be spending a portion of his season on the sideline.

The second-year New York Giants safety was suspended four games by the NFL on Saturday for violating the league's substance abuse policy -- his second substance abuse policy violation in as many years.

Hill will miss the Giants' first four regular-season games and will be eligible to return to the active roster on Sept. 30, meaning he could play in the Giants' NFC East tilt against the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 6. He'll be allowed to take part in training camp and preseason games.

Hill has struggled with drugs in the past, and it nearly destroyed his chances of playing in the NFL.

He was suspended last year by the NFL for testing positive for Adderall.
