New York Yankees reliever Mariano Rivera, 43, is expected to announce his plans to retire after the 2013 season on Saturday.
The New York Post reported that a news conference is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. EST.
Rivera is Major League Baseball's all-time saves leader with 608.
Rivera sustained a season-ending right knee injury in May while shagging fly balls in Kansas City. Many expected that injury to end his career, but he had surgery to repair his anterior cruciate ligament in June and said he'd make a comeback.
Rivera is also expected to make his spring training debut Saturday.
