Kings' Luc Robitaille appointed to Hall of Fame selection committee

PITTSBURGH--Hall of Famer Luc Robitaille, the Kings’ president of business operations, has been given an influential role in determining who will follow in his footsteps in receiving hockey’s highest honor.

Robitaille was appointed to the Hall of Fame’s selection committee, along with fellow Hall of Famer Bob Clarke, senior vice president of the Philadelphia Flyers, and David Poile, general manager of the Nashville Predators.

John Davidson, the president of the Columbus Blue Jackets and former NHL goaltender, was appointed chairman of the selection committee effective April 1.

The announcements were made Wednesday by Pat Quinn, chairman of the Hall of Fame, following a directors’ meeting in Toronto.

The selection committee will meet in late June to vote on nominees for induction this year.
