Cowboys season-ticket holders get playoff tickets before season starts

Cowboys haven't been to postseason since 2009 but fans will soon receive playoff tickets for upcoming season

Dallas Cowboys season-ticket holders will soon be receiving their tickets for the playoffs, right up through the NFC championship game.

Well, that's one less thing to worry about.

Now the Big D faithful can turn their attention to other matters, such as the Cowboys actually making the playoffs for the first time in five years.

When Cowboys season-ticket holders receive their regular tickets this week, the envelopes will also contain tickets to every possible home postseason game, according to ESPN.

A letter accompanying the tickets reads: "Included in this package are your 2014 playoff tickets and parking (if applicable) for two potential home games at AT&T Stadium. The barcodes on the tickets will be activated when a home playoff game is clinched and the tickets have been paid in full."

The league is said to be looking for ways to make it easier for fans to get their postseason tickets since there often is not much time between when a team clinches a home playoff game and the game itself.

Dallas is the only NFL team to try the strategy this year, the league's senior vice president of club business development, Brian Lafemina, told the network.

Not the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. Not the New England Patriots, who have made the playoffs 10 of the last 11 seasons.

Nope. Just the Cowboys, who haven't made the playoffs or had a winning season since 2009.

Obviously this decision must have been made before the team cut backup quarterback Kyle Orton last month. I'll bet Jerry Jones is feeling pretty silly right about now.
