Abdel Basset Ali Megrahi, left, the only person convicted in the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, walks on to an airplane at Glasgow International Airport. Scotland's Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill had announced that the terminally ill Libyan was being released from prison on "compassionate grounds." The U.S. and some families of victims objected to the release. The bombing killed 270 people. Full story.
