Paolo Soleri

A former apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright, the Italian-born architect created a visionary prototype for a new kind of ecologically sensitive city in the remote Arizona desert, called Arcosanti, in 1970. Though Arcosanti never exactly flourished, Soleri's philosophy is echoed in today's green architecture.
