<a href="http://www.foscarini.com/">Foscarini</a> opened its Spazio SoHo store during New York Design Week with a site-specific installation by artist Stefano Arienti. The showroom features modular frames created to highlight the collection and "give them order," said Italian designer Ferruccio Laviani, who also has designed lamps for Kartell and Foscarini. "Mixing art and retail is a gentle approach," he said. Curling streams of multicolor "algae" hung throughout the showroom. "It looks like a living forest," Arienti said of the design, made from plastic bags.
