MAC Cosmetics is celebrating summer with a new collection inspired by quintessential California girls.
Surf, Baby — the jauntily named capsule collection from the mega makeup brand — launches at MAC counters on Thursday.
And, as expected, it offers just about every shade of bronze imaginable, in three formulations: a stick cream and loose and pressed powders. It just got easier to fake a sun-kissed look come beach season.
The collection also includes a jet-black waterproof mascara, two nail polishes (a pinky-nude and a creamy aqua) and six powder eye shadows in similarly retro-feeling shades, including a warm coral and a frosted teal.
Other products include the Suntint trio of tube lip glosses — in pale pink, yellow-pink and soft rose — that boast an SPF of 20; pressed powder Pigments, for strategic dusting, in golden peach and a copper-y gold; and Skinsheen Bronzer Sticks, which "nourish the skin while delivering the perfect bronze or golden sheen to your face," said John Stapleton, senior artist for MAC, who recently used the Bronzer Stick on Kelly Osbourne "as a contour, and to give her a summer glow," he said. "The creamy texture [was] gorgeous on her skin — it gives you that sun-kissed look without any of the damage."
The kicky collection also includes a striped-print waterproof makeup bag bearing a color combo — canary yellow, tomato red and sun-bleached gray — that feels decidedly "Beach Blanket Bingo."
The Surf, Baby collection is priced from $15 to $34.
