The volcano grew more active Tuesday, spewing out incandescent materials during powerful explosions, the national Geophysical Institute said. The renewed activity came after the volcano experienced one of its biggest eruptions Friday. That forced the evacuation of at least seven villages and the closing of the airport and schools in Guayaquil, the country's biggest city.
