'Le Grand Chef 2: Kimchi Battle'

"Le Grand Chef 2: Kimchi Battle" (2010). Estranged step-siblings compete in a kimchi contest and save their mother's indebted restaurant, putting emotional demons to rest in the process. I recommend having a jar of kimchi nearby when watching the movie. My favorite scene is when a former regular customer who moved to the U.S. arrives with her grown sons and grandchildren, hoping to have another memorable meal only to find the restaurant is closed. The protagonist family rallies despite the closure and produces a feast rather than disappoint a woman who fought to raise her sons on her own. I want to be in that courtyard kitchen and learn how to make that food.
