Talk-radio veteran Rachel Maddow, a frequent guest host on "Countdown With Keith Olbermann," launched "The Rachel Maddow Show" on MSNBC in 2008. An experienced journalist, Maddow often takes an in-depth and detailed look behind major stories and controversies, but that's never as boring as it sounds and can often be funnier than some of the bits by real comedians. Maddow always has an interesting angle or finds surprising relationships between disparate facts, statistics and personalities. But it's her infectious enthusiasm for the nuts and bolts of government and media that makes her show compelling. A Rhodes Scholar, Maddow is clearly the smartest of the bunch. We'll see how far that takes her. Her favorite word: "infrastructure."
