Dallas The questions on everyone's mind as the nighttime soap returns for its midseason premiere is who tried to burn down Southfork Ranch and who will survive that conflagration. Josh Henderson, Emma Bell and Julie Gonzalo star. 9 p.m. TNT

Captivated: The Trials of Pamela Smart When 22-year-old Pamela Smart stood trial 23 years ago for plotting the murder of her husband, Gregory, the case — which became the first fully televised, gavel-to-gavel court trial — helped set the stage for the birth of reality TV. Jeremiah Zagar's 2014 documentary incorporates new interviews with Smart, who was convicted, and others close to the case to explore how the exhaustive coverage affected courtroom procedure and sentencing. 9 p.m. HBO
