`The Sopranos' team included (L-R) creator David Chase, and actors Nancy Marchand and James Gandolfini, seen in 1999. The name of Marchand's character, Livia Soprano, prompted speculation that part of Chase's inspiration was `I, Claudius,' the 1976 BBC miniseries about rulers of ancient Rome.
