Jean Delannoy
French film director Jean Delannoy, left, seen in the 1950s with actress Suzy Delair and film producer Paul Graetz, adapted novels by Victor Hugo and Andre Gide and won the Cannes Film Festivals top prize in 1946. Among his films was Notre Dame de Paris, an adaptation of Hugos novel starring Gina Lollobrigida and Anthony Quinn and released in the United States as The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
