A youth sits on a cairn as he views the controversial Scout Moor Wind Farm in Rochdale, England. The development is near completion and will soon supply power to the national grid with 26 turbines. It will have a capacity of 65 megawatts, providing enough electricity to power 30,000 homes. The wind farm was denied permits by the local council but was given the go-ahead by the national government in 2005.
