Thursday: The day in photos - London

A wreath of plants from Charles Darwin's garden lies on his grave at London's Westminster Abbey on the 200th anniversary of his birth. The Helleborus and Berberis Darwinii (discovered in South America in 1885 by Darwin during the voyage of the Beagle) placed on the grave of Darwin in the abbey were taken from the garden of Down House in Kent, where he researched and wrote "On the Origin of Species," published in 1859.
