Windsurfer Yorktown...Mike Shaughnessy of Williamsburg looks across the river waiting for the winds and the tides to pick up before moving out for runs half way to Gloucester Point. Mike is flying across the windy waters of the York River near the York River bridge this afternoon when the winds picked up to 17 knots out of the northwest. "I like the winds to be around 15 to 20 knots, this is one of my shorter boards so I need more wind to make it plane on top of the water".
