The Make-A-Wish Foundation has been busy making dreams come true since 1980. This past November, a special group of children were granted their wishes upon the world's largest, most extravagant cruise ship - Royal Caribbean's brand new ship - Oasis of the Seas.
The children, along with their families, were on hand for the christening and naming ceremony for this incredible ship. Joining them were a number of celebrities, a number of which are wish-granting Godmothers.
Make-A-Wish Chief Wish Ambassador, Michael Jordan, was on hand to grant a wish along with High School Musical star Corbin Bleu and Olympic medalist Shawn Johnson. Dancing with The Stars member Karina Smirnoff; Grammy Award-winning singer Gloria Estefan; Golden Globe- and Emmy Award-winning actress Jane Seymour; 12-time Olympic medalist swimmer Dara Torres; U.S. and world champion and Olympic medalist figure skater Michelle Kwan; actress and former MTV VJ Daisy Fuentes; and actress Keshia Knight Pulliam, who stars in Tyler Perry's House of Payne.
Royal Caribbean generously donated 1,000 staterooms and gave 100 percent of the proceeds from the sales of the remaining staterooms, to the foundation.
Make-A-Wish is the largest wish-granting charity organization in the world. Over their almost thirty-year run, they've granted more than 185,000 wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. For more information on this remarkable foundation, visit their website at www.wish.org.
