The flu was still widespread in Connecticut in late April, and many parts of the state were seeing this season’s second wave of activity.
As of April 19, 5,858 positive influenza cases have been reported this year state-wide, according to the state Department of Public Health.
While the numbers aren’t as severe as the flu that hit hard during January and February of 2013, there has been a return of the flu in April, including increases in influenza A (H3N2) and influenza B, the DPH reports.
