I moved to Memphis 10 years ago -- Home of the Blues and Birthplace of Rock and Roll. Yes, the music scene is great and I live in a funky, artsy area called Midtown, which is full of wonderful and intelligent people.
But Midtown Memphis is an oasis of sorts -- pretty much the rest of the state of Tennessee is populated by negative, poorly educated, gun-toting people such as those who commented on that poor man's letter to the editor [Aug. 19, "Why I Stay In Connecticut"].
I'm moving back to Connecticut to retire where most people are intelligent and caring! (There, that ought to seal my fate) And I'm hoping that Colin McEnroe [Aug. 24, column, "Is Connecticut A Dreary Valley Of Agony"]is still a Nutmegger when I get there!
