Yale Class Day Ceremonies
Yale College held Class Day ceremonies on a perfect spring day on Old Campus at Yale University Sunday afternoon. In keeping with tradition, members of the Class of 2014 donned hats of all kinds, ranging from store-bought to handmade, with many colorful and quirky creations. The event precedes Yale's 313th commencement ceremonies Monday. Secretary of State John Kerry, Class of '66, delivered a humorous and upbeat Class Day address.

Andrew Freeburg, (left) of Trumbull, gets some help from his dad, David, rigging up his Class Day hat creation before Yale's 2014 Class Day ceremonies Sunday. Freeburg created a papier mache hand working the strings of a puppet (himself) supported by a baseball cap that reads, "Harvard Sucks." It wasn't until he got all the strings attached that he realized he needed to get his graduation gown on first. His dad helped re-rig the puppeteer's hand again after Freeburg put the gown on.
