Well, the facts and figures are in, we human beings have a big problem in fixing the Earth's climate. This from the British Broadcasting System: "Even if we stopped burning fossil fuels today, there is enough carbon dioxide in the atmosphere that temperatures will continue to rise for a few hundred years."
The doomsayers are out in force on climate change, just as they are on every other hot button threat (or perceived threat.) Personally, I think we'll adapt and survive. That's what humans do. And climate change is just one of many nightmare scenarios.
Don't forget, there are asteroids up there that are just waiting to come crashing down on our heads. And look out below, bacteria and other wormy microscopic crawlies are mutating and becoming resistant to antibiotics. And GMO's and food poisoning and bird flu and pesticides and microwaves and the goblins will get ya if ya don't watch out.
Sorry, I lapsed into a recital of a poem by James Whitcomb Riley (1849-1916). Back in his day, they used to sit around the fireplace at night after supper and tell scary stories.
Now, we get them 24/7 on cable news.Copyright © 2015, CT Now
