Working Towards An MBA

Ryan Hackett, 31, is the operations manager in the division of substance abuse in the dept. of psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. He grew up in New Britain and joined the Marines in 2005 as a personal challenge when he was a bit directionless. After spending seven months in Iraq and a few years doing financial work, he returned with more self-discipline and confidence, quickly got his bachelor's degree and is now working on an MBA. Hackett has been promoted twice at Yale within 14 months of being hired. He went from being the lowest level financial clerk to running the business operations of a department with more than 200 employees.
