ARTHUR J. KIELY, JR./THE HARTFORD COURANT 1952
Ted Kroll is shown as he walked from the 18th green after turning in a score of 273 to win the 1952 Insurance City Open. Kroll was soaking wet at the time, having played through the tail-end of a hurricane on Labor Day - but he was still the winner by four strokes. He won a whopping $2,400 for his efforts and would go on to have eight PGA Tour wins in his career.
