Talcott Mountain State Park

<a href="http://www.ct.gov/deep/cwp/view.asp?a=2716&q=325272"target=new window">Talcott Mountain State Park</a> has been enjoyed by many generations of Connecticut residents, including such luminaries as Mark Twain. Drive to Simsbury and hike one-mile uphill for panoramic views. If you are feeling especially limber, climb several flights of stairs up Heublein Tower, which sits atop the peak.

<br><br>The park is open from 8 a.m. to sunset. Heublein Tower is open to the public Thursday through Sunday, starting May 24 through the end of August.
