Her new track “Angel” is now available for free download via Brightman’s newly launched website www.sarahbrightman.com. The track is taken from her highly anticipated new album “Dreamchaser,” which will be released on Jan. 22.
“Angel is a track that is very dear to me," said Brightman in a release, "as it lends voice to some of the hopes I have for the next stage of my career whilst casting an eye right back to my childhood. There are some incredible plans afoot and the scale of this song matches the scope of my ambitions for the next two or three years.”
The classical crossover performer has global sales reaching over 30 million units, receiving more than 180 gold and platinum awards in over 40 countries. Brightman is the only artist to have simultaneously topped the Billboard dance and classical music charts.
She was also the first artist to have been invited to perform the official theme songs at the Olympic Games on two occasions. The first was at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games which was followed 16 years later by a performance at the opening ceremony in Beijing.
Brightman recently accepted the UNESCO nomination to be an “Artist for Peace” Ambassador for her “commitment to humanitarian and charitable causes.” She has appeared in several films, including Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008), directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, and Stephen Evans' First Night (2011).
