John Kelly, of Boston, Massachusetts, reads from a prepared statement held by his personal care assistant, Jessie Strickland, as he testifies before a Public Health Committee hearing at the Legislative Office Building on a proposed bill that would allow doctor-assisted suicide. Kelly is the director of Second Thoughts, a Boston-based organization of people with disabilities who oppose the legalization of assisted suicide. He spoke in opposition of the bill.
