Gun workers rally

HARTFORD, CT - 03.14.2013 - FIREARMS PUBLIC HEARING -  At a public hearing of the public safety and security committee, Killingworth fire marshall Mike Butler explains that assault weapons are no more lethal than the traditional long gun. More than 500 Colt Manufacturing Co. employees, contractors, suppliers and vendors traveled from West Hartford to the Legislative Office Building in a caravan of ten buses to rally in opposition to the governor's proposed assault weapons ban. Gun supporters and opponents attended the public hearing of Senate Bill 506 which would require a background check for any firearm transaction.
