Hartford is just one of the state municipalities cutting jobs as budgets tighten.
Mayor Eddie Perez announced in October that the city would lose 132 positions to layoffs, retirement and downsizing. Perez cut his own staff of 24 people by five.
The Department of Public Works is going down 34 employees and health and human services will cut 17 positions.
