The beauty of nature and Native American culture was celebrated this weekend at Hammonasset State Park in Madison during the Nature and Native America Festival. Throughout the day spectators were able to view traditional Native America dances performed by individuals from numerous tribes located in the area. Hands-on spear throwing demonstrations using an atlatl were also a hit as were the reptile and animal encounters hosted by the Hammonasset Nature Center.
